Registration and Insurance

REGISTRATION - When cars are built from all new parts then a new car registration will be issued. On cars using some old parts then there is a set of guide lines issued by the DVLA for The registration of Rebuilt or Radically altered vehicles. These guide lines are just that are open to interpretation by an inspector should the DVLA wish to inspect your vehicle, whereupon a registration will be issued. This category of vehicles also has to have a normal MOT certificate BEFORE it goes on the road. After that the usual insurance and road fund licence will put you on the road.

INSURANCE – Cars are in approximately Group 7 for 1600cc and group 9 for 2000cc. Some times at renewal this can be added to an existing policy. Ask the insurers about limited mileage polices where the costs are rarely more than £250.00.

LHD – Left hand drive is available for export vehicles.
